Imagine having to explain to 7 year old why people stormed into your place of worship, shouting down the aisles with banners as they toss leaflets, then taking over the pulpit to engage in in various physical acts designed to offend.
Nope this isn’t some act of persecution one might read about in far flung places like Kandhamal or Mosul.

No siree. This is instead a home-grown terrorist cell calling itself “Bash Back” whom invaded the Mount Hope Church in Lansing, MI this past Sunday; an account described by the blog Right Michigan as follows:
… amidst worshiping congregants and following unifying prayers that our President-elect be granted wisdom as he prepares to lead our nation through difficult global, social and economic challenges, the Michigan left declared open war on peaceful church goers.
They did it with banners, chants, blasphemy, by storming the pulpit, by vandalizing the church facility, by potentially defiling the building with lewd, public, sex acts and by intentionally forcing physical confrontations with worshipers.
Gateway Pundit puts a sharper edge on the siege, reporting:
The radicals interrupted the service rushed the pulpit with a megaphone, noise makers, condoms, glitter by the bucket load, confetti, and pink fabric while screaming at the churchgoers.
And why? Can it be because churches of all denominations are simply teaching that Scripture commands us to loath the sin while showing love to the sinner? A line of sound theology and thought best reflected in an October 2000 sermon by Pastor Mark Adams of Redland Baptist Church, Rockville, MD entitled “Homosexuality: Combining Conviction With Compassion” and summed up in this salient point of truth:
… Christians must be BOTH people of CONVICTION, living their lives according to the truth of God’s word, and people of Christlike COMPASSION, whose hearts break for sinners even as they hate their sin.
I believe that this is especially true when it comes to the way we deal with homosexuality.
And if we were honest I think we would have to admit that many Christians have been somewhat lopsided in their response to this issue. We have been VERY good at communicating our convictions about this topic-but VERY POOR at showing compassion for people who choose this lifestyle. Many of us need to repent and ask forgiveness for the hate we have expressed toward the homosexual community. We are NEVER justified for anything LESS than loving people…no matter what their sin.
Oh sure, there are some idiot, radical, heretics out there like Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist cult … but I think if anarchist groups like “Bash Back” would actually engage in dialog and study, they’d see more Christians believe and practice the compassion with conviction approach preached by the aforementioned Adams.
Perhaps that’s why the Lansing City Pulse is reporting that when protesters were questioned by Mt.Hope Help’s Minister Rev. John Elieff as to why their church had been singled out … Bash Back protesters universally responded with … with for it … “I don’t know.”
Yes, that’s a sure fire way to win friends and influence people. Just ask the Christians in San Francisco’s Castro district houndedby activists.
Here are what some other Christians who blog are saying about the infringements on the right to worship by said terrorist group on Mt. Hope:

It’s not ending here. I’m currently collecting stories about how SaddleBack is also being targeted in retribution to California’s recent vote on Prop 8.
And no, I’m not surprised. We saw a similar set of confrontations when Clinton was elected. Then again, in the early 90’s I was a member of a church that got torched twice, once by a gay activist.
My question is twofold: is this really “the change we need” … and will Obama speak up on this issue?
